This past weekend, Velo Saddles athlete Syd (@sydandmacky) became one of the first three women ever to break the 12-hour barrier at the legendary Marji Gesick 100 — widely considered the hardest single-day MTB race in the U.S.

Syd finished the brutal 106-mile course in 11:50:17, nearly 70 minutes faster than her 2023 time — and became just the second woman in history to earn the elusive sub-12 buckle.

“This truly was a team effort,” Syd said. “I’ve never approached a race with this mindset before… seeing how we can make each other better. It allowed me to dig deeper than I ever have.”
